FAQ

What is Vintage Mug & ECUO Can (Eco Can) made of?

They are made of corn starch extract called PLA (Poly-Lactic Acid). The material we use is natural, 100% Compostable & biodegradable, i.e. 100% breaks down in composting conditions. After some special processing the corn-based material can be returned to the earth. Where it will start the cycle all over again.

How ECO is PLA?

PLA (Poly-Lactic Acid) uses 47% LESS non-renewable energy, and generates 59% LESS Greenhouse Gas emissions than the average plastic manufacturing.

Is Vintage Mug & ECUO Can (Eco Can) BPA-free and safe for children?

Vintage Mug & ECUO Can (Eco Can) is absolutely safe not only for children but for all of us adults too. Vintage Mug & ECUO Can are NOT made of plastic though it looks like so. They are made of PLA, a corn starch extract, hence it is biodegradable and compostable. And naturally it is BPA FREE as well with non-toxic print ink on the outside.

Can I pour in boiling hot water, tea, coffee, soup…?

Yes, you can. As Vintage Mug & ECUO Can (Eco Can) is made of PLA, a natural material, hence it is BPA-Free. It contains ZERO petroleum, no heavy metals and BPA. PLA is considered one of the safest material to replace conventional plastic.

How long it can keep the temperature?

Generally 1 to 2 hours. You can always reheat beverage by microwave, which you cannot do the same for those stainless steel auto mugs.

What is bioplastic / plant-based plastic?

It is made by blending a pro-degradent additive into the plastic during the extrusion process. The additive causes the molecular structure of plastic to break down when exposed to heat or sunlight. The plastic will eventually be in a state where it can be digested by microorganisms. At this point, the plastic will degrade at a faster rate until it has fully degraded into carbon dioxide, water, and biomass.

Will the packaging affect people with corn sensitivities?

PLA (polylactic acid) is made from corn starch and glucose, which both contain very small amounts of corn protein. Any recognizable corn protein though would be destroyed by the heat and fermentation processes used to make the PLA.

Why not organic corn?

We’re deeply committed to organic agriculture. But we’re also realistic about what people can afford to pay for a cup of yogurt. Organic corn would add more than 30% to the price of the plastic can, and we felt that was not a cost we could afford or pass on to consumers.

Can we have our own customized graphic on the cans or on the bags?

Yes, we always encourage companies / organizations to use these eco-friendly products as their corporate gifts. Not only they can promote their green image, they can help spreading the eco message. Feel free to email us the details at info@ecuoconcepts.com

Can we order Vintage Mug & ECUO Cans (Eco Cans) without printing?

Click & Grow - How does Click & Grow work exactly?

The backbone of our smart gardens is the nano technological growth medium, or smart soil. It contains pockets for oxygen even when it's wet and supplies plants with an optimal amount of nutrients.

Some of our products contain sensors and special software that optimize releasing water and nutrients. We've also invented a grow light that helps plants germinate and grow faster at early stages.

Click & Grow - How long does it take for plants to fully grow?

Different plants have different life cycles. Most plants grow 3-9 months, chili peppers and some blooming plants up to 12-18 months. The life time of a plant also depends on the light available, your room temperature and the way you look after the plant. For example, if you cut off all leaves off an edible herb at once, the plant may die.

Click & Grow - How much power do smart gardens require?

We've designed the Smart Flowerpot as energy efficient as possible, its batteries last for 8-12 months. You're welcome to use rechargeable batteries in the Smart Flowerpot.

Click & Grow - Are Click & Grow plants organic?

We're fans of pure food and non-GMO plants and haven't put anything in our products that is even remotely suspicious.

There are no pesticides, fungicides, insecticides, plant hormones or any other suspicious substances in our products. And there's no need for them - a well watered and fed plant with perfect growing conditions can defend itself without any outside help. What we have added are some minerals to feed the plant. Although the mineral salts we use are chemically the same as in all organic fertilizers, in most countries it cannot be certified as "organic".

Click & Grow - How often do you need to fill the water reservoir?

You'd need to fill the water tank once every 3-6 weeks, and an indicator on the front panel will remind you of that.

Click & Grow - Can I use my own seeds?

Our gardening team is constantly working to provide new and interesting plant refills. Also, we're looking into selling Pro refills, available for the Smart Herb Garden, for users who want to sow their own seeds.

We are a small gift shop, but would like to introduce your cool products to our customers. Do you accept small order?

Yes, we do. The Minimum order qty for ECUO Can (Eco Can) is 144 pc, you can have a combination of different sizes and prints. And there's no MOQ for Vintage Mug and Click & Grow. Feel free to email us the details at info@ecuoconcepts.com or inquiry01@ecuoconcepts.com.
